Vessel Details

  • Misty is berthed in the San Juan Islands in Bellingham , Washington in the Pacific northwest where she has been since launched in 1987.
  • Charles lives in Tallahassee , Fl where he sails
    Evergreen- a Tartan 34C .
  • Misty has a full keel.
  • Modifications:
  • Same interior layout as the rest of the P-385's however different woodwork.  The biggest production difference, is the teak rubrail (not toe rail) to protect the sides of the hull.
    Re-powered in 2001 with a  new Yanmar Diesel (56HP 4JH3E).  The contractor had to build up the fiberglass bed under the engine and mounted two large aluminum bars on top of the bed in order to mount the new engine.  Engine was aligned and he is working out some shaft wobble.  Prop is over 5 inches from the aft end of the strut and he is shortening the shaft to 3" to reduce vibration and adding a three bladed Max-Prop.  See Photos of the new installation

Comments
Very spacious sloop that sails surprisingly well in both heavy and light air. Well balanced. Very little torque in reverse. Comfortable, spacious cockpit with custom cockpit cushions and custom back rests. Attractive fiberglass dodger. Consistently popular charter boat
